Features of MIUI 12.5 | MIUI 12.5 Update | Xiaomi | MIUI 12.5

Xiaomi recently announced their new MIUI 12.5 update and when I first found it it was 12.5, that should be a little update because 0.5 but then I installed MIUI 12.5 on our Xiaomi Redmi K20 and it turns out that this is kind of a big update. There are so many cool changes, UI changes, and lots of features, so yeah, let's talk about MIUI 12.5 features and changes. So this is the Xiaomi Redmi k20 with MIUI 12.5 and not that. Exactly a UI overhaul or something, but there are a lot of new UI changes to talk about.

(1) New Startup Animation and Sound

The first thing I noticed in MIUI 12.5 Update was a new start animation and a new sound. That's it and yes that's fine, second, the phone setup process has these really cool animation icons that I really like now when I set the home screen, and things like control center and notification sound haven't changed a lot.

But I noticed some interesting changes first, there is a simple swipe gesture to switch between Control Center and Notification Center so I can swipe from the notification shade to switch to Control Center and swipe again from there to come back and I think this is a very useful gesture.

(2) Dedicated Wallpaper Theme and Personalization Page

The second MIUI 12.5 Update is the settings page now has a dedicated wallpaper theme & customization/personalization page that brings all the customization options in one place that reminds me of the Oxygen OS, but I like that so there are backgrounds of screens with new super wallpapers that I talk about gonna be about in a But there is always Screen Settings, that new lock screen theme option that has these different formats, there are icons that now support third-party icons too, and that's amazing because we've been waiting for it in the Xiaomi MIUI launcher long and it's there anyway. 

There are also these fingerprint animation notification effect font options and then there are the sound options, there are ringtones and while the ringtones haven't changed these visual icons now look more detailed and clear too. 

They have different sounds from different countries and yes that is now great apart from the wallpaper and customization page, the 12.5 UI also has a new volume panel as you can see the power menu has changed too and that reminds me of the power menu in the Realme UI.

(3) Horizontal UI Display with Stock Android

The next MIUI 12.5 Update is you can now fine-tune the display to have a landscape interface better suited to stock Android as you can see that this is optional and yes it is ok the more pages there are in the camera app. It has these new tabs in the form of a user interface that visually shows you additional features, but yes, you can revert to plain old icons if you want the battery page in settings to refresh as well. 

Update, this is the new battery page next to the one above, and as you can see, battery usage statistics are available just below the battery saver options, and the automatic tasks and scheduled power on and off options have been moved to the right page.

(4) System Apps Removable or Uninstallable

The next MIUI 12.5 Update is in addition to UI changes, 12.5 makes many system apps removable or uninstallable and I think this is what I really appreciate right now, for example, you can uninstall the audio recording installer app, as you can see there is MIUI 12.5 uninstall button and only update delete button on MIUI 12. Same with FM data app and others.

Now there are apps you can't uninstall, but I'm talking about themes, music apps, video app services, comment apps, etc., now well you can uninstall these apps, as you can see, the MIUI 12.5 app drawer allows you to uninstall these apps, while I don't think it is a very good addition, in fact, if you look at this Xiaomi photo obviously more custom skins will allow us to uninstall system apps with ease like this.

(5) Updated Privacy Features of MIUI 12.5

Now we all know privacy is a myth, but let's talk about updated privacy features on MIUI, so MIUI 12.5 brings privacy features straight from iOS. For apps, for example, the weather app doesn't need to know your exact location as you can see I can here Activate the approximate location before I give the location permission. 

Apart from that, the privacy page is now better designed and has more options. Xiaomi MIUI 12.5 also notifies you when an app is using the clipboard, just like iOS. 

There's also an option to receive notifications when an app deletes your photos without your permission. Also, a protection page on the right with these different options like the option to choose apps that can access your gallery and files allow photos to be shared with no counter data and more.

(6) Updated Gallery App

Next, the Gallery app has been updated to MIUI 12.5 and brings some really cool features that I think a lot of people will find useful, for example, you can now save images as PDF from the Gallery app, I mean here is the option I'm touching. And yes that's done, there is also a rename option and a recognized text option that wasn't there before, and I think these are useful new options. 

Besides the gallery app has more filter categories and that means yes, There are a lot more filter food trips. Late Night Black & White and Cool I can finally read the text of these categories too, which is amazing now, along with the gallery in the notes app, there are new features too, now there is mind map support for those who don't know that the mind map is basically like a flowchart so that you have a more visual idea of ​​the notes, your plans, etc.

Well, that's a vague idea of ​​what it looks like and I think it's useful other than that has the notes-App also has more drawing tools, there is a pencil and pen and brush for highlighting and more and I like the fact that it is also very easy to use to create shapes, so let's say I use the pencil and I can draw and hold down to automatically create a shape, it's very impressive From Xiaomi.

(7) Super Wallpapers (colors & Design)

Other Features of MIUI 12.5 is MIUI 12 introduced super wallpapers and yes they are awesome, I mean, I remember setting super wallpapers on my other non-Xiaomi phones, wallpaper that looks nice I mean the animation is great I like that the wallpaper changes color depending on the time of day, then there is geometry with these shapes and it looks really cool from the lock screen to the home screen, yes that's cool right now, in Italy, there are still some wallpapers that show bold, but they work not on the Xiaomi Redmi k28 anyway, You can install it on your phone too.

Other Cool Features of MIUI 12.5

1. MIUI 12.5 also contains some really important performance tweaks, so system apps on MIUI 12.5 are said to use 22% less CPU, which means more for apps and third-party games, which will hopefully mean better performance. 

2. Xiaomi MIUI 12.5 also creates a dedicated stream for displaying gestures, which means the CPU gives more and more priority to your gestures and touch input, in theory, everything looks good. And Xiaomi redmi k20 with MIUI 12.5 is very smooth and fast, but yes, it's too early to touch.

3. MIUI 12.5 also brings me more, which is basically the answer of Xiaomi to your Microsoft phone app now. This only works with Xiaomi laptops, but this is how you can access your phone's notification apps and more on your laptop, that sounds great. but yes absolutely I'm here to test it.
