How to Fix Slow Boot Times in Windows 11: How to Fix Startup Problem

In today's article, I'll be showing you how to fix slow boot or startup problems that you might be encountering in windows 11. Let's now fix this slow boot or startup issue that you might be encountering in windows 11. Without any further delay, let's move on. Disable Startup programs : 

The first thing that we're going to do to fix this slow boot or startup issue in windows 11 is to disable some startup items on windows 11. To do so simply 

Step 1. Go to the start menu and then go to the settings expand this window and then go to the apps under the startup menu we can now see all the apps that are running upon startup on our windows 11. 

Step 2. Alternatively, you can see this using the task manager by right-clicking on the start menu and click on the task manager and go to the startup tab however on windows 11 we could configure it right from the control panel itself so you can see where each individual apps right here that are configured to run upon startup

Step 3. So I suggest disabling all this particular stuff right here that is not necessarily important we're going to enable the windows security notification icon since it's a windows app right here once done go ahead and close this window. 

Disable or enable the fast startup feature on windows 11: 

Step 1. Right-click on the start menu and click on the windows Powershell admin and type in here power cfg forward-slash hibernate on. However, this should enable the hibernate feature on your desktop or your laptop computer. 

Step 2. Start menu and click on the settings go to the system and then go to the power and sleep click on this under the related settings this additional power settings and it will take you to this window. Under the power options go ahead and click on the choose what the power buttons do and click on the change settings 

Step 3. Now the turn on fast startup and to fix this particular issue if the checkbox is currently turned off you can go ahead and try enabling that particular feature on windows 11

Step 4. However, if that particular feature is currently turned on and you are experiencing slowness or the slow startup on windows 11 go ahead and check this checkbox right here and disable that particular feature and go ahead and click on the save changes.

Paging File Size:

Step 1. Go to the start menu again and click on the settings go to the system and we're going to configure the page file settings on windows 11. Go to the about and click on the advanced system settings under the advanced tab click on the performance settings and then go to the advanced tab under the virtual memory.

Step 2. Click on the change go ahead and check this automatically manage paging file size for all drives under the c drive where your operating system is installed we are going to change the page file size under the custom size and for the initial size you'll be able to see here.

Step 3. The recommended value so we're going to input that one two six two six eight seven and for the maximum size we're just going to double this value right here and we're going to multiply 2687 by two and we're going to enter that as the maximum size for the paging file size on our c drive click on the set button once done and hit the ok button.

Minimize the Visual Effects or Animations: 

To change or disable some animations on our computer could also be the cause why you are experiencing some slowness on windows 11

Step. Click on this adjust for best performance and you could enable some options right here such as the smooth edges of screen fonts and also check this show thumbnails instead of icons since I think this is the most basic stuff that is required or personally important for my end simply hit the apply button.

Disable Linux Subsystem:

Try disabling the Linux subsystem that could be installed on our windows 11 machine.

Step 1. Click on the start menu and click on the settings under the apps go to the programs and features under the related settings you're to go ahead and click on the turn windows features on or off.

Step 2. Let's now scroll to the bottom until you see the windows subsystem for Linux sometimes this gets installed for some cases and if you don't use the subsystem for Linux you could go ahead and uncheck this button rear and click on the ok button and it will proceed and go ahead and remove the Linux subsystem on your Windows 11 which again would free up some space and resources on your computer.

Scan Missing Resources or Files:

Step: Go to the start pinion right click it and click on the windows Powershell admin and then type in here sfc space for slash scan now it will begin scanning the system for any missing resources or files on our operating system simply just wait for it to finish now that the scan is complete you can see that verification phase has been completed once done we can now go ahead and restart your computer.

 

Disable some Services: 

Try disabling some services on our ms config tool to do so

Step. Go to the search button right here and search MSConfig and go ahead and open up the system configuration app you'll be able to see here the startup selection click on the diagnostic startup which will only load the basic devices and services on windows once then hit the apply button and ok.

Scan and Repair Hard Drive:

It's possible that the issue is now already on your hard drive or your SSD drive so check whether there are some corrupted files or some issues with the hard drive or your system drive.

Step. Open up the file explorer right here right-click on your local desk c or on the drive where your system is installed simply right-click and click on the properties go to the tools and click on the error tracking button click on the scan drive. If there is an error you might be asked to restart and repair your drive automatically once then hit the ok button and go ahead.
